Haus of Gloi package and a few good Rite Aid deals.

I have been patiently waiting for my spring line of Haus of Gloi stuff. I rushed home from work to see the package hanging out on the top of my mailbox. I get excited over little things and couldn't wait to rip it open. I seriously am extremely obsessed with this company and their super awesome unique smells! So today's order was filled with pumpkin butter, bubbling scrub and perfume oil from the following smells: Lassi, Milkmaid, Selkie, Ploughman, La Florida and they gave me a sample perfume oil of Honey Tree. Out of all of those Selkie was the one I was most excited about the description makes it sound like what you would smell like after a day by the sea (scent description: The break of waves, gurgling sea foam, kelp, rain tinged air, sand smoothed driftwood and wild sage.)

I was surprised when I smelled Lassi and now can't decide which is my favorite. Lassi is described as: Cool, fresh mango cream, Tunisian orange blossom absolute, black ginger to ground, splash of green tea and a soft squeeze of lime juice. It seriously smells delicious!!! I smell a lot of the lime and I love it.  As for the other ones, not a fan of Honey tree kinda smells a bit like old lady perfume to me. Can't really put my finger on why I don't care for it. Ploughman is one I was so curious to smell since the description has dirt n' dandelions, tobacco, leather, carrot, and feral skin musk. I ordered a small perfume oil of that just to smell it and it does smell like dirt :) Not bad but I'm not sure I'd wear it. I will try it on my skin to see if the smell changes at all. I just love how unique they are. Milkmaid reminds me of a yummy yogurt. La Florida smells very flowery to me. Not really one of my favs but doesn't smell bad at all. For some reason I smell kind of a minty smell but that isn't in the description at all. I also love their packaging and how they always write a little handwritten thank you. I'll include pics below:

Ok quickly have to just share a great deal I found while wasting time at Rite-Aid today. I found this little eco set of body wash, body lotion, hand cream and body mist. Normal price $7.99 but today it was 75% off so I only paid $1.99!!

I also decided to splurge and buy some J.R Watkins natural head to toe kit packed with body lotions, hand and cuticle salve, hand cream and some lip balm. And yes there is nail polish in this photo. I can't go natural all the time ;) however this company is cruelty free so I always buy from them. I did before I even knew they were cruelty free, and once I heard they were I was super excited. I also grabbed this cute eco bag while I was there. I have a few at home but this one was super cute with the birds on it and it folds up into a small bag so I can throw it in my purse :)
So that's all my goodies for today. The only thing that could make it better would be if my eco-emi box arrived today too. Sooooo waiting for that since it has a gel eyeliner in it this month that I'm dying to try! I haven't touched anything from my rite-aid visit so no reviews on that stuff today. I don't know if it was just at my rite-aid or all of them but lots of natural beauty products were 75% off. If I didn't have enough lotions etc I would have purchased probably everything that was on sale. I just don't need anymore lotion :)

What I've been up to lately

Let me see if I can remember what I've been doing lately. Well I'm about to make my own blush from beets. I painted the chandelier in our dining room white. Revamping it for only $3. I just received my new mineral, all natural make up in the mail. Which I plan on reviewing soon. I do have to say that I found my new favorite lipstick (in natural nymph). I have super pink lips to begin with and have always wanted a cute nude lipstick. I really love that their prices are affordable and the mineral line is 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes. And I just finished making my own liquid dish soap.

Since I have switched almost all my products over to all natural and chemical free my skin has felt wonderful and I just feel better myself.

I can't really even tell you how this decision came about. I do know that I live with pcos and have always wanted to stay away from anything that had extra hormones in it. I was inspired by a lovely friend of mine who helps me find info and wonderful products, to switch my way of living. I started with making my own laundry soap and it just blew up from there. I will list the products I use at the end of this for those interested. I am also a huge lover of coconut oil which I will post wonderful links from time to time on that stuff. I have researched what certain chemicals in make up and other body products have been known to cause or have been linked to certain health problems and decided to switch that stuff over as well. Why not? What gets slathered on my skin will most likely be absorbed into my body and I just didn't think that was right. I make my own deodorant because breast cancer runs in my family and I'm not the luckiest person in the world, so I don't gamble when it comes to health problems. I feel cursed, if something can go wrong with me it feels like it most likely will. I don't take chances.

I have gotten my husband to use all natural or vegan beauty/body products. He tells me how much he loves some of the stuff. And fully embraces my new way of wanting to live. I use cloth pads (yes, sanitary napkins for money saving and because of the chemicals etc in disposable pads) and I've been looking into getting or making re-usable towels that clip together so they can be wound around a paper towel holder. I use eco-shopping bags and reuse anything I possibly can, if not it's recycled. I've signed up for eco-emi, a monthly box of samples that gets sent to me of organic and all natural products. Which I will start to make videos of and reviews for items included in the boxes. Its a inexpensive way to test out so many awesome products.

I'm excited to have a place to share my finds with you all. I hope you all enjoy this. I'm constantly learning about this stuff and in no way perfect so please feel free to share your info as well.

Products I use:
Hair products~Tigi Love, Peace and the Planet

Soap/and other beauty products: Lush products and Haus of Gloi (for lotions and perfumes as well) HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Haus of Gloi. They have the most unique scents available and I just love them!!

I make my own laundry soap and now make my own dish soap as well as my own deodorant.

Toothpaste: burt's bees or Tom's all natural no fluoride.

Mineral makeup that I just got but haven't used yet is from E.L.F (eyes lips face)
I also use Lush's Jackie Oats foundation. Love that stuff!

I use coconut oil as a moisturizer and makeup remover as well as ingesting it for all of its health benefits. I am in love with O.N.E coconut water but only in pink guava. Mango is ok but not my fav and I can't wait to get my hands on the pineapple flavor.

I make all my cleaners as well.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton of stuff but I'll add it as I remember. If you want you can follow me on pinterest to check out all other DIY stuff   http://pinterest.com/sabrinab84/
